New essay on trauma and children’s social care published

I am pleased to have contributed a short essay to The Centre for Social Justice’s new publication, Trauma: The Long-Term Impact, looking at trauma and the children’s social care system.

In my essay, I recount some of what I have learnt from the frontline practitioners I have spoken with, about their experiences of supporting children and families.

My essay draws from the research I conducted for my chapter on children’s social care, for CfEY’s book Young People on the Margins.

The collection’s editor, Cristina Odone, is Head of the Family Policy Unit at CSJ, and contributed to a seminar on early intervention that I chaired this week for the Festival of Education. You can view the seminar here.
