Should prayer rooms be banned in schools? CfEY’s Head of Policy debates on TalkTV

CfEY’s Head of Policy, Baz Ramaiah, joined Vanessa Feltz on TalkTV to discuss recent news that high-achieving Michaela School in north London has banned pupils from engaging in prayer during lunchtime. With the issue currently being contested in the high court, Baz debated veteran journalist Isabel Oakeshott on the topic, drawing on data and his personal experience of teaching to argue that there is no conflict between pupil’s right to religious observance in school and high standards of behaviour and attainment.
