The secret life of the “gap flipper”

In today’s TES, I highlighted the strange phenomenon of England’s 102 mainstream secondaries with a ‘reverse gap”, i.e. disadvantaged pupils outperform their peers. Here I present a more detailed analysis which paints a vivid picture of our polarised education system….
NB: National averages are based on mainstream secondaries for whom data was available and figures are based on 2013 DfE performance tables.
