Iesha is passionate about creating social change. She believes in a fairer society for all and increased opportunities for the disadvantaged to succeed. Recent projects have included exploring issues such as youth homelessness, and talent management in education. Iesha has a particular interest in participatory approaches that give research participants a true sense of agency. Iesha has over 12 years’ experience as a senior manager and teacher in secondary schools and academies in London and the East of England. She also has experience as an effective independent consultant and coach and during her educational career, Iesha has been seconded to the Department of Education. She was part of the team responsible for the reforms to Initial Teacher Training which have led to the current variety of school-based routes into teaching.
Currently, Iesha splits her working week between the Centre for Education and Youth and a secondment as Head of Strategy at the Youth Hostel Association. She is also an experienced governor in the Early Years phase.
