Social Cohesion and Sauerkraut: The Financial Times reports…

7th November 2016

Miranda Green writes about our latest social cohesion report in the Financial Times.

In her piece she explores what society can learn from schools when it comes to bringing together people from different communities.

She quotes Loic Menzies, LKMco Director, saying:

“We were taken by surprise,” says Loic Menzies, an education consultant who once taught in a local comprehensive. ‘Teachers see themselves as bringing people together, because we have that mixed group in front of us every day. But we realise those barriers might not be coming down.’ Idealism about how a school’s pupils and families relate to each other, he adds, was “challenged quite dramatically.”
