CfEY’s celebration of resilience and recovery 2023
1st June 2023
We are delighted to announce CfEY’s flagship event for 2023: a celebration of the resilience and recovery of the education and youth sectors following the pandemic.
Three years on from the start of the pandemic, we’re taking this opportunity to reflect on – and most importantly celebrate – the achievements and resilience of practitioners and young people across the education and youth sectors.
The event will take place on the evening of July 5th 2023 at the Salesforce Tower London.
We are delighted to have shadow minister for schools, Stephen Morgan MP, and Vic Goddard, Principal of Passmores Academy, CEO of Passmores Cooperative Learning Community, and star of the BAFTA nominated Educating Essex, joining our event to deliver keynote speeches. Stephen and Vic will be accompanied by a panel of experts discussing lessons learned from the pandemic, featuring:
- Karen Wespieser MBE, COO at Education Intelligence (Teacher Tapp)
- Emmanuel Akpan-Inwang, Director of Lighthouse Pedagogy Trust
- Navdeep Sanghara, CEO of Woodland Academy Trust
- David Thomas OBE, entrepreneur and former Senior Policy Advisor to Rt. Hon. Gillian Keegan
We will end the evening with plenty of time for food, drinks and networking.
In anticipation of our event, we were delighted to interview education research legend John Hattie about his views on recovery and resilience in the education sector during and after the pandemic. John took us through the evidence of the impact of the pandemic on young people and what the way schools responded tells us about how education policy should work.
